My name is Alan Calderwood and I am currently trying to trace my family tree, the Calderwood's,
who came from a townland near Rasharkin, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland, known as Killydonnelly.

Where is Killydonnelly?
Killydonnelly is a townland found midway between the towns of Ballymena and Ballymoney,Co. Antrim. It is within the Parish
of Rasharkin, in the Electoral Division of Glenbuck, in the Barony of Kilconway, in the County of Antrim, Northern Ireland.
Covering an area of 535 Acres the townland was home to about 40 families in 1862 (source: Griffith's Valuation of 1862),
of which 15 were Calderwoods.
Typically the residents lived in small agricultural holdings of 5-10 acres in size although there were several larger
farms and a Beetling mill.
Killydonnelly no longer appears on any modern maps of the area, however the small holding of Calderwoodstown within the
townland of Killydonnelly is now shown on the Ordnance Survey map of the area.
